We are hosting a get together on august 18th at 3pm at the High Performance Earthworks headquarters at 50 Wolf Tongue Ct in Nederland.
We are taking shovel and other dirt working tool donations if you have old crappy or broken tools lying around that you would like to get rid of. Otherwise we’re just hanging out celebrating bikes and bikers and hoping to get to know more of you. We’ll provide some beverages.
In other news, we are working on getting vault toilets installed at the West Magnolia trailheads.
Our first step in this initiative is to ask the Town of Nederland's PROSAB board to contact the Forest Service for a status update on the approved 2016 Magnolia Non-Motorized Trail Proposal, which was supposed to include vault toilets but has yet to be implemented.
We are seeking volunteers to call into the August 15th PROSAB meeting at 5:30pm and make a public comment expressing concern about the lack of facilities at the trailheads given the area's growing popularity and its proximity to our community. If you are interested in helping, it should require only a small amount of your time. Please contact us at overlord@gnarmtb.org for more details. We are seeking input from all trail users, so please refer any runners, hikers, moto riders, or equestrian users you know who may be interested in helping out.

It all begins with an idea.
We are thrilled to announce the release of the first edition of the GNARchives! Join us as we document our journey towards growing an inclusive and accessible biking community. Please visit us at www.gnarmtb.org, follow us on Instagram @greater_nederland_area_riders, and tell all your friends!
We have some exciting news for the biking community this week!
Digging has started at the Vortex pump track at 100 E first St. in downtown Nederland. This could not be a better location...and just in time for summer to start! Please feel free to come visit and lend a hand if you have some time. Even 10 minutes can make a difference. We’re in the beginning stages here but we plan to update signage and infrastructure here over the next few weeks.
The rink link trail (below) between the outdoor ice and tennis park and the elementary school was approved at the May 16th PROSAB meeting and work is slated to start there this summer. If you are interested in getting involved please get in touch at overlord@gnarmtb.org
And last but not least, Ned Gravel is looking for local volunteers to help support at an aid station and on the course as course marshals. If you are interested in helping out at an aid station you can reach out directly to Gavin@nedgravel.com. To check out our course marshal times and other jobs you can go to: Peak to Peak Endurance Volunteers. All volunteers receive a free entry in another peak to peak managed event, such as the Nedned trailfest.
Stay tuned for more updates, and don’t forget to keep spreading the GNAR vibes.
